Longtime Head of CDB Tipped to Step Down

The chairman of the China Development Bank (CDB), Chen Yuan, is to be replaced by the chairman of the Bank of Communications, a source with knowledge of the matter says.


The central government made the decision and the announcement would be made soon, the source said.


Chen was elected vice chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People´s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in March. The 68-year-old has been at the helm of the CDB for 15 years. Before that, he was deputy governor of the central bank.
