State Companies Emerge as Winners Following Top China Meeting

China’s largest state-owned companies emerged as winners following a meeting of Communist Party leaders, who validated their dominant role in the economy.


The supportive language in the first comprehensive economic blueprint by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang suggests they are treading carefully on addressing bloating and inefficiencies at state enterprises, which for now appear to have fended off efforts to curb their enormous influence.
