China FDI Rose in August

BEIJING—China attracted $8.38 billion of foreign direct investment in August, up 0.62% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday.


Although this was below the previous month’s growth rate, ministry spokesman Shen Danyang said this was “nothing to worry about.”


“What we focus on is the quality of FDI, not the growth rate,” said Mr. Shen.
