Economists See Further Slowdown in China

BEIJING—Economic growth in China likely slowed again in the second quarter, according to forecasts, reflecting a poor export performance and increasing signs that credit-driven growth has run its course.


It would be the second consecutive quarter the economy slowed.


Expansion of China’s gross domestic product likely decelerated to 7.5% on the year in the second quarter from 7.7% in the first, according to the median forecast of 18 economists surveyed. That would be the slowest pace since the third quarter of last year.
