China Data to Prove Doubters Wrong

Not long ago analysts were pondering whether China could meet its 7.5% growth target for the year. Now, after a series of happy surprises on the economic front, the question is how far third quarter growth will exceed that goal.


The median forecast of nine economists surveyed by the Wall Street Journal is for a 7.7% on-year rise in gross domestic product, comfortably ahead of target and up from 7.6% growth in the first half of the year.
